Biography

Marta Polanska was born in Cracow, Poland, in the family of scientific workers. She is graduated in piano from the Music Academy in Cracow. She studied with Irena Rolanowska, Prof. Andrzej Pikul and Prof. Miroslaw Herbowski. At the age of 9 she participated in the International Piano Competition "Chopin for the Youngest" (Antonin) and later in The International Piano Competition in Bucharest. She is prizewinner in All-Polish competitions. She participated in solo and chamber music master classes and courses lead by: Bronisława Kawalla, Andrzej Pikul, Pawel Skrzypek, Roberto Prosseda, Altenberg Trio, Tadeusz Gadzina, Daniel Stabrawa... She recorded Chopin's works for TVP Cracow and together with her brother Marek (violinist) as Polanski Duo played several premieres, including compositions dedicated to her during the International Cracow Composers Music Days and the International Audio Art Festival. She concertized in Poland, Switzerland, Romania, Germany Italy and Austria. She received a Royal City of Cracow scholarship. She is founder and president of the Sfogato Music & Arts Society and artistic director of the International Sfogato Music & Arts Festival organized by the Society. She also completed post-graduate studies in Journalism and Media Communication at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow. She has participated in numerous scientific conferences in Poland, the Czech Republic, Greece (Crete), in Italy and Romania, among others, the XI International Congress on Musical Signification, in 2010, in Krakow.
